Back Again

Thanks again for taking the time to watch these videos. I look forward to having a deeper conversation and maybe one day joining the team. Talk soon!

Bill is a metalsmith I met in Florida when looking for a Cyr Wheel fabricator. He was a such a generous dude, that I had to share his story with anyone who was also looking for a Cyr Wheel online. We shot this video in his shop sometime in 2015. If you’re curious, I documented my first 30-days learning the cyr wheel here.

Jon is a woodworker who made furniture to pay the bills. Mounted high on the wall in his shop was a wooden bicycle. Though he was busy making cabinets and custom bars, it was this wooden bicycle that grabbed media attention and brought people into his shop. That’s how I came to know him. Because of this, he was able to explore more passion projects, like making longboards. We go together and made this video back in 2014 , leading up to the grand opening of his Local Longboard shop. Now he rides around in a bad ass ice cream truck, painted like a P-40 bomber… it’s a mobile skate shop.

Sarah is a sculptor I met at a local gallery in San Marcos, TX. Her installation covered the walls with masks and statues draped in horrific costumes. Her show concluded with a theatric performance between 2 live-action characters in the gallery. Upon meeting Sarah it was obvious she was completely immersed in her work and in these characters. Sarah and I created this video in 2017. Our mutual goal was to bring the viewer into her world.

Austin is a musician that regularly performed at a local coffee shop here in Seguin. His music is best described as “if Pearl Jam was from Texas”. Anyway, we struck up a friendship and decided to collaborate on something special in the near future. When he mentioned he was going to Yellow Dog Studios out in Wimberley to record the title track on his upcoming release, it was apparent what we should do. We created this video back in 2019 to promote the release of his “Ghosts” EP.

The Chicken Coop that started it all

When my kids wanted backyard chickens, I watched every chicken coop video on Youtube. This is how I was introduced to April’s channel and became an instant subscriber. This was the first freestanding structure I had ever built and it was a labor of love and lots of trial and error. Most importantly, it was made possible with the help of the Youtube DIY community.

We have plans to build a 10x14 garden office later this year, a small deck, a cattle panel fence, and 50’ water feature. All of this started with finding the resources online and gaining the confidence to build a chicken coop (ahem, with automatic door and rain catch watering system).

I’d love to give back to this community of DIYers.
